Good news for travelers looking to visit Kenya this summer! Kenya Airways (KQ) is increasing its flights from New York City to meet rising demand and boost tourism.
- Starting June 15th, 2024, KQ will offer two additional weekly flights to New York until September 28th.
- This brings the total number of Kenya Airways flights from New York to nine per week.
- Passengers will have the option of two daily flights (morning and afternoon) on Thursdays and Saturdays.
- The new schedule also includes a convenient same-day option, departing Nairobi in the morning and arriving in New York in the afternoon.
Partnership for Growth:
This move coincides with a partnership between KQ and the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB). The KTB will be hosting a trade roadshow in New York, Boston, and Toronto next week (March 19th–21st) to promote Kenya as a tourist destination in North America.
Expected Boost:
The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife estimates that the additional flights and KTB’s marketing efforts will lead to an increase of 825,000 international tourist arrivals to Kenya annually. This builds on the already positive trend, with arrivals reaching 1.75 million in 2023, compared to 1.48 million in 2022.
